“Living With The End In Mind”

Matthew 6:19-21, 1 Chronicles 29:10-20 

1. Introduction…

“Don’t store up treasures here on earth.”  Matthew 6:19

“A good man leaves an inheritance for their children’s children.”

Proverbs 13:22

“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust consume and where thieves break in and steal; but store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.  Matthew 6:19-21

2. How Do We Live With The End In Mind?

   a. It begins with the right ____________.

“Every good and perfect gift is from above coming down from the Father of heavenly lights.”  James 1:17

     i. Every penny of ____________ …Every ounce of ____________ …Every second of ____________.

     ii. We live on borrowed ____________ …borrowed ____________ …borrowed ____________.

Wealth and honor come from you; you are the ruler of all things. In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all. Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name. But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand. 

1 Chronicle 29:12-14

   b. It starts with a mindset, but it’s really a ____________ set.  

     i. The Law of Treasures

“Bring your full tithe to the Temple treasury so there will be ample provisions in my Temple. Test me in this and see if I don’t open up heaven itself to you and pour out blessings beyond your wildest dreams.”  Malachi 3:10

“The love of money is the root of all evil.”  1 Timothy 6:10

     ii. Enough is ____________ enough and the result is always ____________.

3. A Few Observations When ____________ With Blessings From God.  

   a. If you don’t use the blessings of God to bless others, those blessings can become a ____________.  (Abrahamic Covenant)

   b. If all you do is raise your standard of ____________ and not raise your standard of ____________, the blessings can actually become a liability.

   c. If you use your blessings to bless others, they become ____________ blessings.

4. Conclusion

   a. Can you imagine a ____________ where every person, when they are blessed by God or blessed by someone else, is thinking about how they can double their blessing?

   c. If this church is us (Shen UMC), I believe we will see God’s Kingdom come. We will see God’s Will be done.  And we will be the recipients of a double blessing from God!
